Hair!

Hello everyone! So a few days back I ordered some moroccan Ghassoul clay because my hair has been a complete mess, I’ve lost half of it and it’s been dry, stripy, frizzy and dull so I thought that I’d give it a try. My family on dads side are moroccans, so I’ve heard lots of great things about it but I hadn’t tried it before today. It is AMAZING. I don’t have a before picture but here’s an after picture (I’m crap at taking selfies hee):

Usually I’d have to put in a ton of products to make it like this, but here I’ve only washed it with ghassoul clay and I brushed it a little this morning. AMAZING. Hopefully my hair will feel better and stopp falling off now that I’ve quit shampoo. I’ll give you an update about it in 4 weeks.
I bought my Ghassoul clay at http://www.bodybazar.com , it’s in powder form and really easy to manage.
I’ve also been told that it’s great for yor skin, and lately I’ve been having breakouts all over my face due to stress so hopefully this miracle mud will take that away too.

I’ll be doing a book haul next week probably, I ordered a bunch of books from http://www.adlibris.com and now I’m impatiently waiting for them to arrive so that I can drown myself in lovely fiction!
What would you like to see more of on my blog? Should I do video reviews, more book reviews, tips and recipes..? Every suggestion is welcome, I want to improve as much as possible!

Prince of Thorns

Author: Mark Lawrence

Pages: 373

Genre: Dark Fantasy

Publishing date: August 2 2011

When he was nine, he watched as his mother and brother were killed before him. At thirteen, he led a band of bloodthirsty thugs. By fifteen, he intends to be king…

It’s time for Prince Honorous Jorg Ancrath to return to the castle he turned his back on, to take what’s rightfully his. Since the day he hung pinned on the thorns of a briar patch and watched Count Renar’s men slaughter his mother and young brother, Jorg has been driven to vent his rage. Life and death are no more than a game to him–and he has nothing left to lose. But treachery awaits him in his father’s castle. Treachery and dark magic. No matter how fierce his will, can one young man conquer enemies with power beyond his imagining?

This book.. Wow. I have no words. Okay, I do have words but I don’t know how to use them to describe this book because it’s amazing, confusing, odd and insane all at the same time!

At first I found it a bit hard to get in to it because of the way it’s written. One second we’re in Jorgs thoughts, the other we’re in the present, the third we’re in the past, but after a while you get used to it and then you’re just.. Wow. I just wanted to know more, I couldn’t put it down unless I really really had to.

What I liked the most about Prince of Thorns is the way the author makes you completely disgusted and charmed by the main character, Jorg, at the same time. I didn’t know if I wanted to slap him senseless or give him a hug and a hot mug of tea!

What I didn’t like so much is the way some parts seem rushed through, I had to re read some parts because I missed important events. Another thing that bugged me was a few unexplained events in the end, but I suppose those are explained in the sequel – King of Thorns which I will hopefully acquire in the foreseeable future!

Overall I really enjoyed the book and I will give it 4/5 bookmarks!

(please comment your critique on this review, as a beginner I would love to know what I can do to improve!)

I was supposed to sleep early tonight….

…but they’re showing Mirror Mirror with Lily Collins on TV and I freaking LOVE her! She’s an amazing actress, and she is gorgeousss! I’m sitting here fangirling over her whilst drinking green tea and crocheting, I have to get up at 6.30 tomorrow so I really freaking have to sleep after this film which I probably won’t because I have to read 1 chapter before bed and that will probably become a few more chapters.. Haha. Fangirlproblems…

cinnanmonbuns and crocheting

Hello everyone!

I spent yesterday cleaning and reading basically, I am totally hooked on Prince of Thorns! Sadly, being a single mother means that there isn’t much time for reading and such when the kids are young! But I take whatever time I get, hee hee.

Today mum and I decided to make cinnamonbuns, so we spent the afternoon baking and eating!

RIMG0075

There’s the result! They turned out delicious. I don’t have the recipe though, but I’ll get it for you guys tomorrow!

I’ve also made some progress on the crocheted blanket I’m making, I took a 5 month break and now I’m producing squares like a machine. I love crocheting and knitting, it’s so relaxing!

RIMG0087

I have about 4 lenghts left to make, each lenght consists out of 11 squares and let me tell you that these squares might look quick and easy and simple but when I started I got so mad. I learned to crochet by watching youtube videos, I highly recommend you to find someone to teach you IRL instead because not being able to ask questions is so FRUSTRATING.

I also finished supernatural season 9 yesterday. If this doesn’t get a happy ending I quit! So not okay! Like seriously, what the hell!?

The book is changed

brilliant text!

Geeky Wizard's Academy of Fandoms and Shenaniganry

The book is changed.
I feel it on their covers. I feel it in their pages. I smell it in the library.
Much that once was will never be lost, for many still live who remember it.
It all began with the forging of the Great Sagas.
Three were given to the Tolkiens; immortal, wisest and fairest of all beings.
Seven, to the Game of Thrones, great readers and craftsmen of the fandom obsessions.
And seven, seven books were gifted to the race of Narnians, who above all else desire high fantasy.
For within these books was bound the strength and the will to govern over the fantasy genre.
But they were all of them deceived, for another saga was made.
In the land of Great Britain, under the lights at her writing desk, the Dark Lord Voldemort was forged in secret, a master saga, to control all others.

Coconut and lime cake

RIMG0055

Just baked this baby, it was delicious and it’s vegan! Here’s the recipe:

4dl of wheat flour

50 g margarine

2.5 dl soja milk

3 teaspoons baking powder

2 teaspoons vanilla powder

2 dl of sugar (originally 3 but I think that’s too sweet)

1 small ecological lime

1/2 dl coconut flakes

mix all the ingredient together until its a smooth batter, bake for 40 minutes at 200 c and enjoy!

flowers, freshness and a really nice vase

Helloes! I took a stroll down to my mums and noticed that the lavenders are ripe for cutting if you plan to dry them up and sew them into little baggies to put in your closet because, well because it smells amazing and you feel like you’re in Avonlea (if you are a Anne of Greengables nerd. Which I am. Hee hee.)

RIMG0042

This is what they look like when they’re best for drying, not quite bloomed yet and smelling delicious. Basically you cut off your lavenders and tie them up in a bunch like this, and then you hang them somewhere dark-ish like in the kitchen or on the living room wall like I did!

I also have to show you guys this amazing vase I have, I am totally in love with it and I NEED more vases and flower pots in the same style!

RIMG0036

Pretty eh? I love it! What do you think?

right now and a pretty awesome tip

Hello! I’m back from the grocery store with lots of food and some ginger, because ginger and lime water is the best! Did you know, that if you have a funky smelling room (like my bedroom, the previous tenants smoked in here and it smells like cigarette-monkey) you can remedy that by slicing up some lime, lemon or cucumber and it draws out the smell AND you get a citrus smelling fresh air instead? Try it, it’s awesome!

RIMG0018

Anyways, I am now going to return to my ginger wanter, risenta sesame cookies and Prince of Thorns. What are you guys reading at the moment?

too tired to function

Basically I fell asleep at 2 am and woke up at 7. What? I didn’t even have an alarm on I just randomly woke up so I’m basically sitting here, drinking earl grey and playing game of thrones ascent hee hee. I have to get dressed soon and go buy som groceries (and probably some chocolate), and after that I am parking myself in the bed with a book. There is nothing better than to sit in bed and read under a blanket with a cup of hot chocolate and some chocolate ah (yes, I really freaking love chocolate). What are you guys up to today?

thursday night.

Hello everyone!

I have had a couple of exhausting days filled with boring must-do’s when all I’ve really wanted to do is lay down in bed with a mug of tea, a good book and watch Lindsay. I did however manage to do a quick workout today and my saint of a mother decided to have a sleep over with my son today, so I’ve taken a super long shower and put a hairmask in my hair and changed my sheets. Best feeling ever! Especially when you’ve just cleaned the bedroom and made everything nice and shiny.

I’ve also been blessed with a new camera (after 2 years of working with a crap phone camera I deserve one), so I will be able to put up pictures here and hopefully redo the design a little because, well this one isn’t that inviting is it?

Here is a picture of my personal piece of heaven right now by the way;

RIMG0007

I’m super excited about this book, I bought it a while back and I started to read it and got  really really hooked, but then I lost it because someone poked around in my stuff and I found it like a week ago! I thought that it’s better to re read the whole thing than to start where I left off since I hardly remember what happened in the last chapter haha.

When I’m done with it I might do a review, until then I’ll give you the synopsis;

From being a privileged royal child, raised by a loving mother, Jorg Ancrath has become the Prince of Thornes, a charming, immortal boy leading a grim band of outlaws in a series of raids and atrocities. The world is in chaos: violence is rife, nightmares everywhere. Jorg has the ability to master the living and the dead, but there is still one thing that puts a chill in him. Returning to his father’s castle Jorg must confront horrors from his childhood and carve himself a future with all hands turned against him.”

What I remember about this book is that it was really well written and I really loved it. The author is Mark Lawrence and there are 2 more books in the serie I believe. Like I said before: I will probably put up a quick review once I’m done with it!
Did you notice my funky Slytherin bookmark by the way? It’s gorgeous, innit?

Aynywho, I have to return to my tea before it gets cold!
